Photovoltaic Design and Installation Workshop

Course topics include:

• Photovoltaic components
• Designing and sizing a system
• Siting
• The configuration of stand alone / off-grid systems
• The configuration of grid-tied / utility connected systems

Safety, energy efficiency, and the benefits of co-op PV systems will also be covered

Attendees will recieve a certification upon satisfactory completion of the course.

General Home Maintenance Skills

Course Topics Include: plumbing section

• List of required tools
• Draw up house floor plan to include plumbing & electrical
• Repair of faucets, hose bibs & angle stops
• water heater maintenance (putting water heater blanket on) and/or replacement
• Review of basic code
• Toilet maintenance and/or replacement
• Overall diagnostic review for service calls

Course Topics include: electrical section

• Understanding basic electricity AC / DC
• Simlpe circuits to include wire color, power, and ground wire installation
• Switches, outlets, and devices
• Lights: removal and replacement
• Service - distribution
• Tools
• Hands on wiring - switch,plugs, and lights
• House plan

Each 8 hour section is $75, sign up for both for $100

Commercial Building Energy Efficiency and Getting Stareted with Energy Star Portfolio Manager

Course topics include:

• Statistics of energy use for commercial buildings
• Capturing cost / oppurtunities for savings with a review of ROI
• Outline and what to look for in your building envelope
• Lighting, heating/cooling, windows/doors, hotwater systems
• Equipment, controls and comfort
• Renewable energy options and brief considerations
• Walkthrough of the building with Energy star Portfolio Manager
